Why your floor structure sets the price
Curbless entry means the shower floor has to sit below the surrounding floor. Where that depth comes from is the whole question.
On a slab
We can often core and recess into the slab for a linear drain. Predictable work, and the reason ranch-style Overland Park homes get curbless showers more easily.
Over a crawlspace or basement
With access below, the pan can be dropped between joists. Usually straightforward, occasionally requiring a joist to be sistered.
On a second floor
